The Expense of Post-Secondary Education
By 2016, it's estimated that the cost of a four-year undergraduate degree will be more than $70,000. For all of us, borrowing money during university years could result in a tremendous interest expense. And laying out that sum in after-tax dollars over four years, on top of living expenses, isn't a burden most parents can bear.
Our Planning efforts out lines how an initial lump sum or regular contributions can, over the long term, provide the money today's kids will need to pursue post-secondary studies in the next century - either through an in-trust account holding equity mutual or seg funds or a Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP).
